HOW TO GET TO THE ELDRED HOUSE:

1. Because of the isolated location, we suggest using an on-line mapping system to reach the Eldred House. You can  also use a GPS unit but since there is no street address, you should enter the city center for Eldred, Illinois. The zip code is 62027.

2. This will take you to Eldred and you will be heading west on Highway 108. After passing under a canopy of trees, you will come to the bottom of a hill and come to the Eldred-Hillview Blacktop.

4. There will be a small bar / tavern on your left. Make a right turn onto to the Eldred-Hillview Road. Go down the road to 1300N (watch for the green street signs) and make the right.

5.  The house is the first house on the left and just drive up into the yard through the rock fence opening.

OVER MY DEAD BODY:
For the last two decades, author Troy Taylor has been chronicling the hauntings of Illinois, from its ghost-infested houses to its abandoned graveyards, but he has also become known for his tales of the state’s blood-spattered criminal history – especially when it pertains to the ghosts left lingering in the wake of murder, horror and death.   From tales of pirates and killers, a vanished sausage-maker’s wife, a tragic young woman’s murder, a mysterious hanging tree and the Prohibition wars that raged in the southern part of the state, this collection of the author’s favorite stories of homicides and hauntings will haunt the reader long after closing the final pages of the book! There have been at least four deaths in the house over the years and legend tells of a Native American who was buried on the property --- leading to ghost stories that are still being told today. Experience this historic location first-hand and see for yourself if there is truth to the rumors! Starts at 8:00 PM -- $40 Per Person -- Payable at the event!
